Spend a night at in a real Irish pub, which The Welcome is and you begin to wonder why it’s so popular.
It can be too popular at times but The Welcome deserves it’s reputation. The bar food is not just hearty. It’s delicious; there are plenty of plasma TV’s for important games of football; the staff are friendly and some have fetching accents; the lighting is dim and romantic, even in the beer garden which is heated and dotted with chest-high wine barrels to lean on. And the people give good "chat" as the Irish themselves are wont to say.
